LJCPA does not employ staff, pay for travel, make purchases not associated with meetings, or compensate its Trustees. Most of its expenses therefore are associated with meeting and other logistics. They are funded almost entirely through the generosity of La Jolla community members and others.

Note please that LJCPA cannot accept contributions from any individual, architectural firm, contractor, or other entity with a project currently listed as an “action item” on a published Agenda for an upcoming Trustee or Committee/Board meeting.

To ensure the security of donor information, LJCPA contracts with two outside services (Donorbox and Stripe) to collect and process donations and credit them to LJCPA’s bank account. We do not have access to credit-card or bank account numbers, or indeed anything other than donors’ names, addresses, and donation amounts.

You can contribute using this form (which communicates directly with Donorbox, bypassing our website):

Or point your phone camera to this QR code, which will take you to the same form and simplifies payments by Apple Pay or Google Pay:

You can make one-time donations or set up regular monthly or annual donations–we especially appreciate those! You’ll receive a receipt from Donorbox (which handles contributions for us) once the payment is complete.

If you prefer to donate by paper check, please make it payable to “La Jolla Community Planning Association” and either hand it to the Treasurer at a meeting or mail it to

LJCPA Treasurer
PO Box 889
La Jolla CA 92038

If you contribute by check, please be sure to include your full name, your email address, your residential or business address, and a phone number with your contribution so that the Treasurer may acknowledge it. LJCPA also accepts cash contributions at Trustee meetings, but does not provide receipts for those.

LJCPA qualifies as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. Donations to LJCPA therefore qualify as deductible from Federal income tax to the extent permitted by law.
